What counts as a dental emergency?

What to do until you get to us

For a knocked-out tooth, gently rinse it (do not scrub), and either tuck it back in the socket or put it in milk. For pain, take ibuprofen (if you can tolerate it) and apply a cold compress to your cheek. Avoid putting aspirin directly on the gums โ€” it can burn the tissue. Then call us.
